In the course Black history II people discuss the culture and history of African Americans. And look deeply into the social and political issues in the United States concerning race. The class educates and enlightens students about the time line of African slavery into the jim crow era. There are also discussions of the rate of imprisonment of colored people in the U.S. There are many lessons of the science of race, and talks of historical figures that played a role in the history of slavery.
Overall black history II is a very educational class that I feel should be mandatory in schools around the country. It really helped me to understand more deeply why our country has so many problems regarding the discrimination of colored people. The reason people in our country are so ignorant about racial indifferences and don't see the issues of police brutality is because they are not educated and not awakened to the fact that our world is stuck in the past. And it certainly doesn't help that our new national leader is the prime supplier of racist comments. Black history II is incredibly helpful and insightful in teaching an individual how to think for themselves, it is definitely a class I would recommend to anyone who is interested in the subject.
